Why not drink after work? or if you do not work; then drink after the working hours with your working freinds.. seems like a good idea right?
It`s even a better idea if the place you are drinking at is near your house and serves good cocktails and bites of food to manage those hard work ( or hardly working) munchies. I rediscovered a place that is all those things for me and maybe you too.
Buvette Chez Simone is located on Parc avenue just south of St Joseph blvd and was known to me from a night I went with my gal pal when it recently opened a few years back. I live close enough to be a regular I suppose but since my first visit I have only walked by it many times always seeing a healthy crowd there on any given night. My first visit was great and I am really not sure why I never returned back sooner. anyhow.
This past Tuesday I received news that was pretty worthy of having a drink to celebrate so I decided to head over to see what a 5 a 7 is like in a Buvette. I was pleased to see other people already drinking when we arrived about 5pm ish and enough space in either tables or the long bar in the upper level. The place filled quickly after we arrived becoming a `good kind` of busy and filled with workers and non workers alike who simply wanted to quench the thirst from the earthy vines.
The concept of this place was explained to me as I observed the patrons all enjoying themselves eating and drinking in the raw decor environment as did I with my darling hard working girlfriend.
The concept: It was geared to service a young, modern wine drinker that would rather be in a trendy cafe/bar style that felt local and not so wine snobby but still takes wine moderately or more serious then the dep wine drinker; Also an added bonus to these winos is they happily can be served a really nice variety of tapas/cheeses to compliment the drinks and share as a group. They also serve local brew as well for the beer drinker which I was pleased about.
They have a 4 a 7 deal that is not to shabby and after 4 drinks and a really great goat cheese plate ( I am still thinking of it) with tip I spent 30$ for the two of us. It was a joyful fun experience that I would defiantly be open to any other time.. so let me know if you want to go or text me after 4pm and I might already be there.
I ready to go next week!!
